It was called The Future of Web Apps and it would have been a shame to turn up without an app of our own. So, we built an app that pulled out anything we’d re-tweeted from our @ubelly account with the hash tag #cp and these were dynamically dropped into the print queue. We had hundreds of tweets and it was a full time job over the course of two days just to keep on top of them and keep up the re-tweeting, but it was well worth it.
Firstly thanks to everyone who attended FOWA for taking part and also those not at the event. The printer was embraced heartily by most people, royally gamed by others trying to break our apps with random characters and it even got Rick-Rolled, which we’re very, very proud of. We stopped accepting tweets in the middle of the afternoon on the final day of FOWA and it was time to run our second app of the conference. App #2 pulled together all the tweets we’d re-tweeted and squashed them down into a single printout measuring
Here’s a very short video of our printer in action.
Here is a photo of that final print hanging on the walls at Underbelly towers, the final thing to do is for us to choose our favourite tweet and we will be sending our winner a copy of our FOWA Tapestry very soon.
